Ideal models for deployment in logistics and distribution facilities

The most popular models for logistics and distribution facilities are the Scrubber 60 and the Scrubber 75, both of which can handle cleaning over 100,000ft² on a daily basis. Most warehouse facilties use hard polished concrete floors for easier cleanup and maintenance so the floor scrubbers are the ideal fit for the application. These models in particular can handle liquid spills from damaged inventory and leaking lubricants from forklifts and machinery with ease. Cleaning chemicals can be added to the robots and automatically dispensed to the correct dosage using the optional workstations. The cost savings of using the cleaning robots are drastic with most clients seeing returns on investment of 12 months or less. The robots are able to easily navigate around forklifts and pallet moving equipment and will ensure your facility is up to code on cleanliness.

Cleaning Robots
Types of Cleaning Robots

Choosing the right type of cleaning robot.

Cleaning robots can be classified down into two different functions:

Vacuuming robots that sweep and vacuum the floor

Floor scrubbing robots that scrub the floor with water and cleaning agents

Vacuuming Robots

Vacuuming Robots

Vacuum robots cover areas where you would currently use a vacuum cleaner to clean, such as carpeted areas or hard floors that just need an occasional sweeping. You can think of these as oversized Roomba units you would have cleaning your house, except scale them way up to cover commercial and industrial sized buildings. They have substantial heft, they have the suction power of a standard corded vacuum cleaner, and have cleaning paths anywhere from 16 inches all the way up to 28 inches with the use of side brushes. Our largest models can vacuum the equivalent area of an entire football field in just 3 hours, completely autonomously without any human intervention.

Robotic vacuum cleaners are able to navigate on their own and avoid obstacles without ever bumping into a person. The feature commercial grade LIDAR sensors to detect objects hundreds of feet away and some of our models have the capability to interface with elevator systems to handle multiple floors. They can provide you feedback during operation, such as when the dust bag should be emptied, when to replace rollder brushes and side brushes, and also provide you a comprehensive report of all the areas it has been tasked to clean. You can schedule them for operation anytime around the clock and with the optional charge stations, they can go back to their dock whenever their battery runs low. Our vacuuming robots, in order from smallest to largest, include the Phantas, Vacuum 40 and the Vacuum 50.

Floor Scrubber Robots

Floor Scrubbing Robots

The most rudimentary way of cleaning hard floors is with a mop and bucket, and we all know how long that takes. Typical quotes are half an hour to mop and rinse a thousand sqft of space, which means, for example, a large 50,000sqft floor would take a whole shift, if not more, to mop up and clean, not including any scrubbing effort. Autoscrubbers make the job a little easier but typical autoscrubbers in that caliber still end up taking 4 to 5 hours of labor to clean, not including the amount of time needed to fill the clean water tank, empty out the dirty water tank, top off any cleaning chemicals and any other maintenance involved. Based on our existing deployments, it would take one or two full time staff to mop and clean 50,000sqft on a daily basis, or around 300 to 500 hours of labor, with an autoscrubber, that comes down to about 150 hours of labor per month.

How do robotic floor scrubbers do? With the optional workstations, robotic floor scrubbers can go to fill up clean water on its own, drain out dirty water, go back to the workstation to charge up, take elevators if needed to the different floors and scrub away! For that same 50,000sqft example, it takes just 15 hours of labor per month, and that's on the conservative side just to visually inspect the machines to make sure they're in tip top shapce and replacing any consumables. Whereas both the mop and bucket method and the autoscrubber would use 20 to upwards to 50 gallons of water to clean that amount of space, our robotic floor scrubbers have filtration systems to reuse the water, using as little as 5 gallons to clean the same amount of space, how's that for green credits? Our floor scrubbing robots from smallest to largest are the Phantas, Scrubber 50, Scrubber 60 and the Scrubber 75.
